Manhattan: Indictment in Broker’s Killing

A personal assistant accused of killing her boss, Linda S. Stein, a prominent real estate agent who once managed the punk rock group the Ramones, was indicted yesterday on murder charges. Prosecutors said the assistant, Natavia S. Lowery, 26, of Brooklyn, was scheduled for arraignment on Nov. 27. The police have charged that Ms. Lowery beat Ms. Stein to death with a piece of exercise equipment on Oct. 30, and afterward told the police that her boss had mistreated her. She is being held without bail. As Ms. Lowery was led from State Supreme Court yesterday, relatives and supporters rose and shouted encouragement.
