Patrick Chung, Matthew Burt

Patrick Shuao-Fong Chung and Matthew Fraser Burt affirmed their partnership last evening at the Memorial Church of Harvard in Cambridge, Mass. The Rev. Peter J. Gomes led the ceremony.

Mr. Chung, 33 (above left), is a partner in Menlo Park, Calif., at New Enterprise Associates, a venture capital firm based in Baltimore. He works with new companies, providing venture capital and strategic advice on growth. He graduated from Harvard and earned a Master of Science degree from Oxford, and a law degree and an M.B.A. from Harvard.

He is the son of May D. Chung and Archie H. Chung of San Diego, the founders of Champs Educational Services there, which provides remedial tutoring for elementary and high school students.

Mr. Burt, 29, is the director of music ministry at Christ Episcopal Church in Portola Valley, Calif., and is the liturgical project director of All Saints Company, a nonprofit organization in San Francisco that collaborates with churches on congregational revitalization programs. He is the managing editor of a new edition of "The Harvard University Hymn Book" to be published in October by the Harvard University Press. He graduated from Oxford, and has a master of divinity degree from Harvard and a master of sacred music degree from Boston University.

He is the son of Rita and J. Gordon Burt of Oxford, England. His father is retired as an executive director of Allied Dunbar Assurance, a financial services company in Swindon, England. His mother is retired as a technical assistant in the department of medical physics at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford.
